3 days in mallorca

my partner had a work retreat planned on this island and suggested that we go four days early to spend time there just the two of us. i had never heard of mallorca before, so i didn’t know what to expect. when it comes to choosing a get away somewhere warm and beachy, my most important criteria is turquoise water. not blue or navy, turquoise clear water. I was not disappointed. beaches in mallorca are prestine and The scenery is beautiful and wild at the same time. We focused our 3 days in the north of the island, staying near Port of pollença. tom was excited to bike the mountains in this cycling paradise. There are so many things you can do in Mallorca. visiting, swim, rent scooters, cycling… the food is very good too. Plus it is almost always sunny year round. here below some tips and addresses we visited.

Where to stay:

We stayed in the north of the island, near the mountain range that we wanted to bike and explore by scooter. We stayed in a small town called Cala Sant Vicenç at the Hotel Hoposa Niu. It was a nice hotel with beautiful seaside views, but next time we will stay in the larger town of Port de Pollença where you have better nightlife options.

Where to eat:

sWe had a beautiful dinner at  La Terrassa in Port de Pollença. I had the best squid ink pasta of my life and my partner had a big steak. We didn’t have a reservation but the staff was very kind and accommodating. We ended up with an amazing table on the terrasse with a beautiful view of the sunset over the bay.

Where not to eat:

If you plan on visiting Sa Callobra by bike or scooter (you should), don’t plan on eating there.

Where to drink:

The Tolos Bar & Restaurant is the spot to see and be seen … in cycling tights! Even if you don’t bike, this bike has a nice ambiance and a great view of the beach.

Where to rent a scooter:

We rented a scooter for 3 days from Rent march in Port de Pollença and had good service.

Where to rent a bike:

We rented a bike for 3 days from Mallorca Bike Hire in Port de Pollença and had good service.

Where to bike or scooter:

The ride from Port de Pollença to the Lighthouse of Cap de Formentor is really beautiful with cliffs and sea views around each corner.

The most famous bike ride in Mallorca is the steep winding road to Sa Callobra. There is an amazing beach in a hidden cove at the bottom, but make sure to pack a snack because the food options are basically a scam.
